The focus of the study includes the history, origins of Sundanese language usage, differences between the Sundanese dialect of Banjarharjo and other regions, factors influencing Sundanese language usage, and its impact on the development of local culture. This research employs a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving local communities as primary informants. The research findings indicate that the use of the Sundanese language in Banjarharjo is rooted in the influence of the Padjajaran Kingdom and social interactions with the directly adjacent West Java region. The Sundanese language of Banjarharjo possesses its own distinctive characteristics, both in dialect, vocabulary, and intonation, which are influenced by the cultural acculturation of Javanese and Sundanese. Nevertheless, a shift in language usage is occurring among the younger generation, where the dominance of the Indonesian language is beginning to replace Sundanese as the primary means of communication.
2024-12-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sylvia Nurjannah, Bambang Yuniartohttps://injoe.org/index.php/INJOE/article/view/126INCLUSION OF LEGAL EDUCATION IN SECONDARY AND HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION SYSTEM IN BANGLADESH: AN APPRAISAL2024-04-26T06:32:35+00:00S.M.Hayat Mahmudsmhayatmahmud@yahoo.comMd. It explores how teaching legal information at a young age can help pupils develop civic engagement, legal literacy, and awareness. Using qualitative approaches to analyze integration potential and difficulties, the study assesses the current condition of legal education in the curriculum. Interviews with students, instructors, legislators, and legal experts provide qualitative data that illuminates how legal education influences students’ moral and intellectual development. The study emphasizes the benefits of including legal education in the secondary and upper secondary curriculum since it fosters ethical reasoning, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of legal topics. It also identifies obstacles to successful implementation, including problems with curriculum integration and resource limitations. The conclusions emphasize the significance of comprehensive legal education in developing responsible persons capable of navigating legal intricacies and making recommendations for improving Bangladdesh’s educational system through curriculum, teacher training, and legislative changes. These observations underline the critical role that legal education plays in developing socially conscious persons in secondary and higher secondary schools, and they greatly add to the current discourse in Bangladesh regarding education reform.
2025-02-12T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 S.M.Hayat Mahmud, Md. However, in Kenyan higher educational institutions it appears scanty. The purpose of this study therefore is to Assess the use of AI in the implementation of public universities’ academic programs in Kenya. Specifically, the study seeks to determine whether there are AI policy frameworks for the universities; to establish the extent of universities’ investment in AI in regard to running their programs; to establish universities’ extent of integration of AI in running their academic programs and to determine the way forward on integration of AI on university programs in Kenya. The study used survey design to collect primary data of which three Public universities were sampled, out of which 3 deputy vice chancellor academics,15 chairs of departments 5 from each of the selected universities,3 university directors of ICT and 45 undergraduate students drawn from the various faculties of the three universities selected for the study. The study will be underpinned by Technology Acceptance Model by Davis (1989). The findings of the study showed that in all the three universities surveyed there existed AI policy frameworks. However, there were minimal levels of invested and integration of AI into the mainstream university programs. The findings of the study have implications for all stakeholder engagement and sensitization in regard to the importance of investing into and integrating AI into the university programs as a way being in tandem with the current digitized, efficient, cost-effective, technologically innovative model towards globalized trends.
2025-02-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 PAUL OKEYO OGEMBO, PhD ongoing, M. Digital learning offers flexibility and broad access to resources, allowing students to learn at their own pace and cultivate technological skills. However, constraints such as limited technological infrastructure and lack of training for teachers often act as barriers. Meanwhile, traditional learning remains the top choice as face-to-face interaction supports stronger emotional connections and allows for direct customisation to student needs, although it is limited in its appeal and static information. Therefore, many developing countries have started to adopt a hybrid approach that combines the advantages of both methods. The results show that improving the overall quality of education requires investment in digital infrastructure, training for educators, and collaborative support from the government, educational institutions and communities.
2025-03-04T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Era Purike, Aslan Aslanhttps://injoe.org/index.php/INJOE/article/view/208APPLICATION OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS2025-03-04T04:30:04+00:00Yance Manoppomolucanano@yahoo.comSuyuti Suyutiyuti@unj.ac.id
The aim of this research is to analyze the application of project-based learning (PjBL) in improving secondary school students' critical thinking skills based on a literature review. Critical thinking is an essential skill in 21st century education that allows students to analyze, evaluate and solve problems systematically. However, conventional learning methods are often less effective in developing these skills. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach (library research), by examining various scientific sources such as academic journals, books, conference proceedings and research reports in the last 10 years. The results of the study show that PjBL has high effectiveness in improving students' critical thinking through a process of exploration, problem solving and collaborative work. The main factors that contribute to the success of PjBL include relevant project design, active student involvement, and support from teachers and learning facilities. However, the implementation of PjBL still faces challenges, such as limited time in the curriculum, lack of teacher training, and limited resources in some schools. As a recommendation, training is needed for teachers regarding the implementation of PjBL, flexibility in the curriculum to support project-based learning, and the use of technology as a learning tool. Digital literacy includes the technical ability to use digital devices and applications, as well as critical skills in evaluating information and understanding the ethical implications of technology. While access to information and communication technologies has increased, many learners in developing countries still lack adequate digital literacy skills. Factors such as limited infrastructure, inequality of educational resources and low levels of teacher training are significant barriers. Literature studies show that a holistic approach that incorporates technical, critical and ethical aspects is essential in developing digital literacy. Digital literacy should be integrated into the education curriculum systematically and supported by adequate training for educators. In addition, collaboration between the government, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and the private sector is needed to create an ecosystem that supports the development of digital literacy. This research is a systematic literature review which aims to analyze various teaching approaches and methods in a multilingual school environment. Various scientific sources, including journal articles, academic books, and research reports, were reviewed to identify the effectiveness and challenges of immersion, translanguaging, bilingual, and plurilingual approaches to learning. The analysis results show that the immersion approach is effective in improving target language skills, while translanguaging is more inclusive in supporting students' academic understanding. Bilingual and plurilingual approaches also offer flexibility in learning, especially in environments with high linguistic diversity. Additionally, technology plays an important role in supporting multilingual learning through interactive tools and digital platforms. However, challenges such as gaps in access to education, stigma against minority languages, and the readiness of teaching staff are still obstacles in implementing multilingualism in schools. This research contributes to providing insight into strategies that can be adopted to optimize multilingual learning, as well as highlighting the need for more inclusive and adaptive education policies. It is hoped that the implications of this study can help educators and policy makers in designing more effective and sustainable multilingual teaching programs.
2025-03-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Yosep Heristyo Endro Baruno, Martoni Meleaki Lely, Yosua Padamahttps://injoe.org/index.php/INJOE/article/view/213APPLICATION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT: CASE STUDY IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN INDONESIA2025-03-10T04:07:23+00:00Loso Judijantolosojudijantobumn@gmail.comNur Hakimnurhakimboy5@gmail.comWidya Armaliawidyagetwhatiwont@gmail.com
The development of information technology has brought significant changes in educational management, especially at the high school (SMA) level. The application of technology in school administration, learning systems, and communication between stakeholders is considered capable of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of education management. This research aims to examine the application of information technology in educational management in high schools in Indonesia through a literature review approach. Data sources were obtained from scientific journals, books and relevant research reports to evaluate the benefits, challenges and directions of development of information technology in educational management. The results of the study show that the implementation of information technology has helped schools increase data transparency, the effectiveness of online learning, and the efficiency of academic administration. However, several obstacles are still faced, such as limited technological infrastructure, lack of skills of teaching staff in using technology, and budget limitations in some schools. To optimize the application of information technology in education management, support is needed from the government, schools and stakeholders through the provision of adequate infrastructure, training for teaching staff, and regulations that support the digitalization of education. The implications of this research confirm that information technology has a strategic role in the transformation of educational management in high school. Therefore, further research is needed to explore more effective and sustainable technology implementation models, as well as evaluate the long-term impact of educational digitalization on the quality of learning and school management.
2025-03-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Loso Judijanto, Nur Hakim, Widya Armalia
